Hung Sao Do Uniform
Please try and remember to wear the correct uniform for all of your lessons.
Hung Sao Do have very few strict rules, and have adopted a modern attitude towards dress - for those who don't always want to wear the full traditional Gee, you have the choice of wearing our own club t-shirts. See the section on Red Dragon Supplies for more information.
When wearing your uniform, you should also always wear your belt with pride. This should remain on throughout the lesson.
Rules on dress will often be relaxed either side of gradings and extra lessons where it is acceptable to adopt other sports wear so your Hung Sao Do uniform is clean and ready for the other event.
Please note that on the extra session on June 21st for Red Belts and above, booklets and grading forms will be issued for anyone wanting to go for Black Tag, Black Belt or 2nd/3rd Dan gradings. You must attend this session if you hope to attempt these higher gradings in 2009.
Hung Sao Do are a well established Freestyle Karate organisation which sets, expects and achieves the highest standards from it's instructors and students alike.
We have schools in a number of locations across the North East, catering for beginners to Black Belts, young and old. We stage regular Seminars and inter-club fighting competitions where all of our students can get together and have a great time. The seminars are a chance to learn new moves, and watch demonstrations of the more advanced aspects of our discipline, such as the use of the staff and breaking techniques.
Hung Sao Do is also at the forefront of Sports Chanbara in the UK.
This exciting new martial art features fighting with soft-foam sticks - similar to sword fighting without the risk of injury. For the beginner, it is great fun for old and young alike; but for the more serious competitor it is a serious martial art with international competition fighting on offer for those who are good enough.
Our students have achieved great success in all aspects of competition fighting, and we have produced more than one World Champion. We provide dedicated training sessions and support specifically for those who wish to be involved in Karate competition fighting, and the training we perform in the ring has served our fighters well in both the kick-boxing, and traditional boxing arenas.
